Dear Parents,
The Legendary Living maths Sleepover is coming up this weekend. We are
very excited to be returning to the Science Centre for one of our awesome
sleepovers. If you have not registered your child yet, please feel free to
visit https://www.livingmaths.com/?page_id=96 for more information. We
have 2 options: a child can join us for the evening from 7pm till 11pm or
they can sleep over with the rest of the children. It all takes place on
Saturday, the 7th of October.
What is the Living Maths Sleepover all about?
In our experience, Living Maths is an academic program with a difference.
We teach primary school children about LIVING, using MATHS. We do this
through a practical and hands-on based curriculum. Living Maths emphasizes
that children should experience the application of mathematics in order to
fully grasp and appreciate its usefulness. A sleepover is merely a natural
extension of the Living Maths classes with the added dynamism of
interaction, socializing, developing ideas, exploring and discovering
together with peers. The Sleepover will be taking place at the CT Science
Centre. Exciting activities have been put together to ensure that the
children maximize their experience. There will be ample adult supervision
(we have a minimum ratio of 1 adult for 10 children) and we also have 24
hour security and a Science centre staff member at the event.
Tell me more about the program
The Sleepover has been designed in such a way that there will be activities
to cater for everyone. Our experience has taught us that the variety on the
program will have even the quietest or the shyest child feeling comfortable
when taking part. We have prepared many activities that involve the Living
Maths approach to understanding Maths. Without divulging too much about the
program, here is what your child can look forward to while having loads of
fun and making new friends:
- A special guest from NASA will be joining us at the event!
- A legendary evening of group activities
- Great snacks and an opportunity to play with all the displays
- Videos and movies on the Big Screen inside the movie theatre
- NB: There is a strong likelihood that your child will have limited
sleep at the sleepover partly due to the excitement and partly due to their
nocturnal habits.
See you on Saturday.
Regards
Mr S and the Living Maths Team.
