Maths and Educational goodies for all ages

Hi friends,

Many of you are enjoying the winter school break here in South Africa and
summer break in the northern hemisphere.  With the 3rd term just around the
corner we have exciting events coming up. We had an incredibly busy term 2
with Prof Arthur Benjamin the Mathemagician, Janet Ivey from Janet's Planet
and former NASA Astronaut Nicole Stott. We managed to interact with over 15
000 people in person and we were featured on Radio, TV, various Social Media
as well as in the local press.  The reach has been measured in the millions!
We count this as a success for Science communication! I have just returned
from the USA where I got to attend the annual ISTE Conference to learn more
about the latest tech advances used in classrooms around the world. I got to
present for Kahoot and work with the incredible team behind the Quiz
platform. I also managed to squeeze in a surprise visit to one of our online
schools in Connecticut.  Finally, I had the privilege of working with one of
our partners, The Museum of Math in New York and I put on a couple of shows
for some excited students.  We will be planning some awesome online
interviews for this term and we will announce the lineup over the next
couple of weeks.  With World space Week coming up in October, we are hosting
some guests from NASA and have a few more coming to South Africa at the end
of July!  Watch this space. I am excited about traveling to the Republic of
Ireland again in October for National Maths week to run more activities all
over the country.  I am currently setting the Living Maths Olympiad papers
for 2023 and if luck works in our favour we will be able to host it earlier
this year but still offer the same end dates as previous years to allow more
schools to participate.  We have a competition below. Finally, our online
classes are going to restart next week - more information can be found
below.

ONLINE CLASSES
